You’re at the Comic-Con in San Diego. Could you tell us a bit about the scale of that event for people who haven’t heard about it?
It’s absolutely massive. Something in the region of 125,000 comic book fans have converged on downtown San Diego – you can barely move along the street there are so many people here. The street signs directing people to the conference centre are all in Klingon. So anyone who happens to be fluent in Klingon will have no trouble getting here. It’s dominated by Marvel and DC Comics, but I’m here to fly the flag for 2000AD. Read the rest of this interview here.

Should make another Judge Dredd movie!!! Make it like the more like the comics. Bring on Judge Death.

@stickthejack: They are, at the comic-con Karl Urban was confirmed in the role of Dredd. It’s being independently financed with Alex Garland scripting. Some good talent behind the scenes too. Shooting set for November. Can’t be worse than 1995….
Love 2000AD. Lot of the writers and artists back then worked on girls comics as a launching pad so think they all had to work on trite crap so quite often they’d try to sneak demented things into the girl’s stories. Helped them develop the talented sick minds that 2000AD thrived on.

Exactly, they honed their craft on the trite, silly girls comics. And that stood them in good stead when it came to doing the important boys stuff, like the series about the masked crime fighter from the future.

P.S. Kudos to my cousin Neal for feeding me that question about Stallone and the Judge Dredd. Really helped make it sound like I had the first clue what I was talking about.

@Eoin: you can’t continue to rebuke science fiction (well YOU can but prob shouldn’t) and comicbook super heroes. Judging by the site’s content over last couple of weeks and the response – the plot holes in Inception piece got 60 LONG comments. It’s time you realised who is your primary audience. Geeks, people with a lot of time and Jim Corr.

Most of the songs on The Verve album Urban Hymns were about him too. He really gets around this guy.
