CAN’T TELL ME NOTHING (2007)
Babysitting my three month old niece Lola today. We went for a walk to Kilmainham Hospital and sat down and I sang her songs from my iPhone. Her favourites? Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds, The Kinks’ Lola (obviously, although if she grows up to be a promiscuous, transvestite man I may have to accept some of the responsibility), Danny Kaye’s Inchworm, and the Velvet Underground’s I’m Sticking With You.
She absolutely hates Kanye West and cried every time I put him on. But her favourite song by a country mile (as I was later to discover)?Beyonce’s Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).
I’m not one of those people who gives a shite about cute babies or forwards on LOL Cat images or any of that crap. But, my God, the sight of Lola and her mother dancing to Single Ladies is one of the the funniest things I have ever seen in my entire life. If I can get a video, I’ll definitely post it on here. It’s ten-million-hits-on-YouTube funny…

@ Baz – I thought if I left this long enough, Colin would turn up and do the honours… He must be on holiday.
As far as I recall it was an official video, but not thee official video.
It was obviously a couple of years ago now, because when it came out first, Will Oldham was the celebrity cameo and Zach Galifianakis was the who-the-fuck-is-that-guy?
