Read those books and loved em as a Nipper but forgot about them that they even existed until seeing this on the site today.
Was the Dog’s name Barnacle or something lke that?

Just checked Wiki its Jumble. Another interesting factoid is the first TV adaptation starred a young Dennis Waterman(!)
