I Know It’s Over (1986)

Album filler turned live tour de force. Very specially for Colin!

    Album filler?!

  2. Eoin Says:

I don’t think the original is a patch on the version from Rank. Same goes for Vicar in a Tutu. They had Craig Gannon on auxiliary guitarist at that point, gave them a much meatier sound.

  3. Colin Says:

Least I inspired you to put up a wonderful live performance.

    Just for fun:

    Pity about the video quality.

And the Moz cameo (at 1:45):

Wow, never seen either of those before. I’m a little disappointed in the first one, but there you go. This changes nothing.

  5. Colin Says:

@Eoin: Heh heh, I didn’t think it would, but they are interesting nuggets, might be a couple more out there.

Just had a big breakup last week, this got heavy rotation in my wallowing in self pity phase. Nice to see it in a new context! Though not nice to see it described as album filler…

  7. Eoin Says:

Sorry to hear that Sean. And in retrospect, filler might have been the wrong word to use.

In the early 1990s, Meat is Murder and The Queen is Dead were both out of issue. But I had an old cassette copy of Rank.

Thus I knew that version, before I knew the studio version and always considered the studio version inferior as a result.

  8. Seán Says:

I can agree with that. Pisses all over Heaven knows… for self-absorbed moping music.
To be honest, they almost all sound better to me on the “meatier” rank. Although that could be to do with the kind of material they use for a live set
