Looks better than expected. The sidelined Pizza is obviously Meath’s.

  2. Eoin Says:

Don’t mention sidelines on here Colin, unless you want to hear me go into a very long rant.

We were sitting right where that ball went out. One of the worst, most blatantly incorrect decisions I’ve ever seen given.

  3. Eoin Says:

Fuck it, here’s the long rant (and these are only the decisions even the Sunday Game panel were unanimous in agreeing were wrong…)

    – David Bray is wrongly awarded a 50 in a tussle with Keith Higgins from which Meath score a point
    – Mayo goal wrongly disallowed when Paddy O’Rourke clearly carried ball over the Meath goalline
    – Joe Sheridan wrongly awarded sideline ball against Trevor Howley that set up penalty incident
    – David Bray wrongly awarded penalty, that was never a foul

Also, from my vantage point, I’m pretty sure one of the Meath points in the first half actually went wide.

That’s a seven (or eight) point difference in a game we only lost by three points.

Having said that, I’m not denying that Mayo were completely and utterly shit and probably deserved to lose overall.

Re: the disallowed goal, I think there was a second umpire on the grassy knoll….hahaha – typical Mayo, making excuses as always

  5. Jenny Says:

    Footballschmootball…what happened the pizza??

  6. Matt Says:

@ Jenny – collapsed in the second half i hear

  7. Colin Says:

@Eoin Aye, it’s not great when as the game is happening, people are talking about refereeing mistakes. American basball fans could call them.

The sideline slip up only to be followed by a pillow soft penalty just after Mayo had scored the goal will be a horse sized suppository that will take Mayo fans years to swallow.

Can you get someone who can show Mayo how to defend now? Kerry would have killed them, the Galway and Meath games has to get someone sacked or hired.

  8. Eoin Says:

Kerry would almost certainly have beaten us in the semi-final. But I reckon we might have run them pretty close.

No way Kerry will be as good as they were against Dublin again. And no way would we have been as bad as we were against Meath again.

  9. Conal Says:

the ultimate mayo defeatist; trying to swallow metaphorical suppositories
