NEW ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING #3

Christ, is there anything as soul destroying as a child’s incessant crying? I don’t know how many hours it lasted. Two and a half, maybe three. Later, I dug out this track released (as I recall) the week the September 11th attacks. But from the very first line, I knew it didn’t quite fit. “Nothing hurts you like the pain of someone you love,” he sings. But that isn’t it. That isn’t it at all. It isn’t the pain. It isn’t the distress. I hate to say it, but it’s the fucking crying. It’s doing my head in.

Haven’t tried that Mairead. I did try winding her over my shoulder, but she just puked all over me. My sister says baby puke is just absorbed into your clothes. It doesn’t smell.

I think my sister spends too much time around baby puke.
