Tripping Along the Ledge has been A.W.O.L. for the past 24 hours, celebrating Mayo’s heartstopping, last minute victory over Galway in the Connacht football final. Forget Peader Gardiner, how the hell did Ollie score in that hat?

July 20th, 2009.

Re: Conor Mortimer’s Michael Jackson tribute. No one in the stadium picked that up, only the television cameras. Apparently he had it stitched into his boots too.

Cconsidering the guy was starting on the bench, and that such a celebration was only appropriate if he came on and scored a goal, I think it demonstrated a certain swagger.

As well as a certain twatishness, obviously.

Let’s not have this descent into the-sports-team-from-my-area-is-superior-to-the-sports-team-from-your-area territory if you don’t mind. Thanks.

Ollie’s “damn that was lucky, oh and now I’ve scored, fuck this is a great day !” hat has a few more games left in it(knocks on wood).

Is it too early to break out the ‘Tom Tom and the Byrne Babes’ classic ?

  6. Eoin Says:

Okay, I’ve had to look up what the hell Tom Tom and the Byrne Babes is/was. You have a freakishly good memory for crap!

The worst part was he spelt Michael wrong… cringe

What you cant see from most of the photos is that he actually paid tribute to Micheal O’Jackson.
